The American Flagfish (Jordanella floridae), also known as the Florida Flagfish, is a unique, colorful species of pupfish (a type of killifish) native to the slow-moving waters, marshes, and swamps of Florida. It is widely celebrated in the aquarium hobby for its striking red-and-blue coloration that resembles the stars and stripes of the United States flag, as well as its voracious appetite for pesky aquarium algae.
