Inkberry holly (Ilex glabra), also called gallberry, is a hardy, broadleaf evergreen shrub native to eastern North America. Growing 5 to 8 feet tall, it features glossy dark green leaves, lacks sharp spines, and produces small black berries that attract wildlife. It makes a great native alternative to boxwoods.
