Bulbine (Bulbine frutescens), or Jelly Burn Plant, is a low-maintenance, drought-tolerant succulent native to South Africa, ideal for, or as a groundcover in, USDA zones 9-11. It features grassy, fleshy foliage, growing 1–2 feet tall and wide, with yellow or orange flower spikes. Thriving in full sun and well-drained soil, it is, and is resistant to pests and deer.
