Perennial peanut (Arachis glabrata) is a tough, low-maintenance, drought-tolerant groundcover that thrives in full sun, growing 0.5–1 foot tall with yellow flowers. Ideal for USDA zones 8b-11, it is used as a turf alternative, for erosion control, and requires little to no fertilizer. It is evergreen in frost-free areas but goes dormant in colder climates.
