Blue porterweed (Stachytarpheta jamaicensis) is a fast-growing, low-maintenance, native, perennial shrub (1–3 ft tall) featuring lavender-blue, spike-like blooms that attract butterflies and hummingbirds year-round in zones 9–11. It thrives in full sun and well-drained, sandy soil, making it excellent for groundcover, coastal gardens, and butterfly habitats. It is highly drought-tolerant once established.
