Spotted Beebalm (Monarda punctata), or Dotted Horsemint, is a short-lived perennial native to the eastern U.S., ranging from Ontario to Florida and Texas. It thrives in dry, sandy soils, prairies, and sunny woodlands. This 1.5–3 ft, drought-tolerant plant blooms from summer to fall with unique, purple-speckled white flowers and colorful, leaf-like bracts. It is a magnet for bees, butterflies, and beneficial wasps.
